Hello everyone! If there are still people visiting this site. Tintin probably, YES I KNOW YOU ARE READING! He likes to track me via this tool, which sometimes I don't really like, coz I can't rant and vent my frustrations freely.
I am suddenly in the mood to write, though I am not sure how long this enthusiasm will last me. So pardon if this entry ends abruptly. Means my mood has changed. Haha.
I am loving my new job. Oops. it's career! I have new things to learn everyday. Though daily tasks are routinised, I encounter different situations everyday that enable me to learn and catch up with this industry. I made mistakes though. I think everyday! Well, given my blur nature, it's not surprising. Lolz. Luckily those are rather minor mistakes that can be resolved. I sent my colleague (the helpful and patient colleague guiding me all these while) fainting several times when I told him I made a mistake. Hohoho... All my branch people are the nicest I could ever wish for. Whenever I need help, they are always there to guide me. When I overlooked and made mistakes, they correct me nicely and explain the rationale and consequences of the error. Most importantly, they are willing to teach. Which I really feel I am damn lucky!
Did I mention that I went for a short shopping trip with Wendy over the long weekenfd? It was freaking fun and entertaining la! I think only Wendy can be as siao and hiong as me lor! You know what? We bought one-way ticket to KL. Coz the return ticket is soldout. We bought the coach ticket only 1 hour prior to the departure. Even though there was no return ticket, we still went ahead with the plan as we did not want to back out and dampen our mood the last minute, and we were told that we could purchase the return ticket at KL. So off we went!
We reach KL at 4am in the morning. 2 girls, with 2 bags, walking along the streets of KL. Lots of touting from the cabbies, but we ignored all of them coz we knew we will get chop badly if we fall prey. But they were so persistant! We walked off hurriedly. Walking along the streets for another 15 minutes, and along the way we got some unwanted attention from passing cars and bikes. For a moment we were both kind of terrified by the thought being such an easy target, we quickly hopped onto a cab. Wendy was damn funny and cute la, she opened the door of the cab and ask how much is the cabfare to our hotel in Malay. So naturally the cab driver answered in Malay. And guess what?? She doesn't understand the reply! Hahaha. The most funny thing is she still can stick out her 10 fingers trying very hard to count 1,2,3 in Malay. The cabbie saw, and said : 1 5 (in English) so we hopped onto it. That incident sent me laughing for the next few days.
Our hotel room was super huge! Nikko Hotel. 5 star hotel! The toilet is the biggest I have seen. I got a shock when I switched on the light and stepped into the bathroom. So shocked that I was stunned for several seconds. And Wendy thought what happened to me. lolz. Absent-minded me forgot to bring the camera! So all photos are with Wendy. She has actually uploaded them into Facebook, just that I am too lazy to save them and upload them here. Hur hur...
We had some rest, and in the morning we headed for their buffet breakfast and off we went shopping! We conquered Sungei Wang Plaza, Lot 10, Berjaya Times Square. We sort of skipped BB Plaza coz it was too boring there. My loot for the day: 1 dress, 2 tops, 1 shorts. Wanted to go Chinatown at night. But... God decided to let it rain. So filled with disappointment, we went back to our hotel room. It was pouring so heavily that if we were to take a cab back to the hotel, confirm also kenna tok. So, the clever us decided to make our way back via train. Wasn't that difficult, just that we had problems identifying which direction to head after we got out ogf the train station. Nonetheless, we made our way back without much problems!
Initially we wanted to order room service. But the cheapest on the menu was wanton mee. and it freaking cost RM22, not inclusive of taxes and service charge!! Crazy la! So in the end, we decided to walk across the street to the 24hour foodplace. We acted machiam locals there can, without looking at the menu we ordered maggi goreng and milo peng. haha... One plate of noodles and drink only cost RM7.50. ANd it tasted delicious! So delicious that Wendy, whom at first told me she was not very hungry ( I was the one who kept nagging that I was hungry), told me she wasn't very full after gobbling down the whole plate of noodles! After the satisfying supper, we went back to the hotel and watched some lame vampire show until both of us fell asleep. One thing not very good about our room is that the aircon siao siao one. Can be ok at this moment, and after sometime it seemed not functioning and made the room so warm. After a while, ok again! -_-'''
The next morning, both of us couldn't wake up in time for breakfast. We zonked out till 11 plus, after which we checked out and made our way to KLCC for the last shopping. Totally nothing there nice to buy! We ate A&W. Rootbeer float rocks! And and and, when it was time, we wanted to take a cab to Puduraya, where we were supposed to board our coach back to SG. Now, at every entrance of the shopping mall, it has a huge notice standing firm and strong The notice goes something like:
SAY NO Taxi Touting!
Please proceed to the taxi stand off Jalan Ampang and always insist on using metered fare.
Sounds so encouraging right? So we proceeded off towards the door and a security guard led us to a chain long of taxis which we presumed was the taxi stand. The cab driver in front of the taxi queue approached us and asked us if we were going to airport. We replied with our destination. He told us RM20.
Both of us were like HUH??? Thought should be metered fare? We refused and went to the mall's information counter. At the counter, we enquired with the receptionist if that was the taxi stand. She said yes. Then we further asked if there was metered fare. Guess what...
She shook her head, with the most apologetic tone and expression, and said NO.
WTF??? Then might as well don't put the stand right??!! What they are performing do not even adhere to the policy! Even the mall's staff who obviously know that touting is not allowed! But they are not doing anything to facilitate the government's advice and policy. Totally absurd and irritating. So, in the end, we walked to te other entrance, bargained with the cabbie driver, and paid RM18 to our destination. But I know we definitely overpaid coz the distance was very near! I was telling Wendy it's even more expensive than the cabfare in SG. But well, nobody is helping the situation, and for our case, we definitely needed the ride! So even we know kenna tok already still LL have to be cheated. Sigh... That is our dear neighbouring country for us...
Ok gonna sleep! It's getting late. The weather is killing me these few days!
